First shows of the season for the Wensleydales

The first shows of the year have soon come round with Wensleydales showing at various shows around the country, don’t forget to send in results for the website as well as keep a tally of your placings for the Cornist trophy (exhibitor with the most points from Any Other classes at shows).

Sue Holdich and her homebred Wensleydale Hogg in Wool were out on Sunday 12th May and took the Supreme Sheep title at South Suffolk Show – this is the third year in a row that Sue and her Wensleydales have taken this title, a real achievement!! Congratulations Sue.

Julie & Anna Pennells’ Nipna Flock were out at Nottinghamshire County show with their Hogg in Wool taking Any Other Native Breed champion, winning the Wool on the Hoof and also taking third in the Overall Interbreed Group of three.

Next weekend sees the first of the Wensleydale classes at Otle  Show with a good entry, and a good forecast it looks to be shaping up to be a great day so do some along and support the classes and exhibitors.
