Factory Visit

The Association had a great trip out on the 4th June 2024 visiting the Harrison Spinks Innovation centre and factory at Leeds. We would like to say a huge thank you to the team there as well as Liam and Rebecca McPartland from Harrison Spinks Farm who invited us and were so generous with their time and knowledge

NSA Sheep Event

On Tuesday 31st July, the WLSBA attended NSA Sheep Malvern with our brand new association stand. Along with four beautiful Wensleydale sheep supplied by Diana Bird at Chilton Grounds Farm, the stand was much admired by visitors (and other sheep societies!)

Skipton Sale

A great day was had at the 133rd annual show and sale of Wensleydale Longwool sheep on the 31st of August at CCM Skipton Auction Mart. The females met a solid demand with the top a shearling gimmer at 340gns from Messrs Harrison Spinks of Tadcaster and a 2 shear Ewe from Laura Beaton at the same price

Melton Mowbray Sale

The second annual affiliated Show and Sale of Wensleydales was held as part of the 21st annual Native & Traditional Show & Sale at Melton Mowbray on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th September. With the Bluetongue outbreak restricting the movement of stock from exhibitors in Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, unfortunately the exhibitors from those counties were unable to attend, reducing the number of Wensleydale sheep forward

Wensleydale Workshop day

On a rather bright and mild afternoon on the 5th October 2024, Chilton Grounds Farm in Buckinghamshire very kindly hosted a workshop day for members to enjoy a social catch-up, learn about current animal health and welfare practices, meet some new faces and brush up on their knowledge of the breed

Wensleydale Sheep: A Handcrafted History Exhibition

The Wensleydale Sheep: A Handcrafted History travelling exhibition, showcasing the finest handcrafted items made from luxurious Wensleydale wool, kicked off its first stage at The Handweavers Studio and Gallery, London on the 12th October
