Wensleydales had a tremendous representation at Royal Norfolk Show this week with six breeders competing in the very full and competitive Any Other Longwool section.
Serena Plenderlieth’s Aged Ram winner took the male championship whilst her Shearling Ram in full wool took reserve male champion. Julie Pennell’s ram lamb won the ram lamb class making it an all Wensleydale Championship!
In the female Classes Mark Elliott won the gimmer lamb class with Wensleydales filling many of the other placings in the remaining classes.

Congratulations to junior member Anna Purser and her first Wensleydales who had a great first outing but especially well done for winning the huge 17-21year old young Handler section this morning qualifying for the Young Stock person of the year competition at East of England Smithfield festival!
as well as perhaps the youngest (future?!) WLSBA member showing her grandmother Sue Holdich how it’s done in the Wool on the Hoof classes today!
