The first Wensleydale show of the 2025 season judged by Mr Trevor Stoney. Congratulations to Anna and Julie Pennell on winning Breed Champion and Reserve Interbreed with ther ewe hogg in wool, with Mark Elliott taking Reserve Breed Champion with his aged ram
Suffolk Show 2025
Wednesday 28th May saw the Wensleydale Breed classes held at Suffolk Show. Judged by Mr Ernie Sherwin, he found his Champion in Diana Bird and Duncan Parker’s tup hogg in wool. Reserve Champion went to Mrs Marion Starkings with her ewe hogg in wool
North Yorkshire
Show 2025
North Yorkshire show ran for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, judged by Mr Martin Brown. Oliver Duffield & Faye Protheroe won Breed Champion with their tup lamb on their first outing, with Anna & Julie Pennell taking the Reserve Champion spot with their hogg in wool
Royal Norfolk
Show 2025
The Royal Norfolk Show held dedicated Wensleydale breed classes for the first time, judged by Dr Lynn Clouder. Duncan Parker & Diana Bird won Breed Champion with their ewe hogg, taking the Reserve Champion spot with their tup hogg in wool
Great Yorkshire
Show 2025
The Great Yorkshire Show was held on Tuesday the 8th – Friday the 11th of July this year, with a good turnout of Wensleydales. It was judged by Dr Freda Magill, who found her breed Champion in Mark Elliott’s aged ram
Ryedale Show 2025
Always the last Tuesday in July, the sun shone yet again for Ryedale show at its new location. Judge Mr John McHardy found his Champion in the ewe hogg in wool from Julie & Anna Pennell who also went onto take Longwool Champion and Reserve Interbreed Champion!
Oswestry Show 2025

Ripley Show 2025
This year Ripley show was held on Sunday the 10th August. Judged by Mr Andrew Bainbridge, his Champion was found in Liam McPartland’s ewe lamb with Mark Elliott’s ram in Reserve
Wensleydale Show 2025
Saturday the 23rd August saw the Wensleydale Show with a good turnout of exhibitors. Judge Mrs Davina Stanhope found both her Champion and Reserve in Ernie Sherwin’s stock, a shearling ram and aged ewe respectively
Nidderdale Show 2025
Despite a damp start at the Nidderdale Agricultural Show held on Sunday 21st September at Bewerley Park, Judge Ms Jessica Talbot found her Champion in Ernie Sherwin’s homebred shearling ram and Reserve in his two shear ewe
Masham Sheep Fair 2025
The final show of Wensleydales classes was held on Saturday 27th September at the lovely show that is Masham Sheep Fair. The classes were judged by Mr Roger Field and his Champion was found in Mark Elliott’s aged ram, with Reserve going to Oliver Duffiled & Faye Protheroe’s ram lamb
Other Breed Classes 2025
Wensleydales are not solely shown in dedicated breed classes – many breeders show their Wensleydales in Rare Breed, Native Breed, Any Other Longwool and various other classes throughout the country. Below are results from those classes, some of which host the Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Breeders’ Association Rosette for the highest placed Wensleydale within the appropriate section
