The 134th annual show & sale of Wensleydale sheep took place on Saturday 30th August 2025 at CCM Skipton Auction Mart on behalf of the Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Breeders’ Association. The sale ring was well attended, with buyers from the far ends of the country – both new and established breeders – turning out to watch the sheep go through the ring. Trade was solid, with both male and female shearlings seeing a higher average than the previous year. Top price of the day went to Mr N Oliver’s shearling ram at 410gns. The Association are grateful to Mr John McHardy for travelling down from Scotland to judge the sheep in the pre-sale show, which he has attended as a vendor and successful competitor for many years. He picked out Mr E Sherwin’s shearling ram as his breed champion and Mr & Mrs D Parker & D Bird’s shearling ewe as the reserve, full results including lot numbers below!
